Spiritual Transformation

One evening an old Cherokee told her granddaughter about a battle that goes on inside people. She said, "My daughter, the battle is between 2 "wolves" inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The granddaughter thought about it for a minute and then asked her grandmother: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Spiritual or mystical transformation is not a psychological process. Mystical teachings go deeper than that. They refer to the nature of consciousness and the structure of our deepest interiors, in my case, the valley of my soul. They are not just helpful psychological principles and practices invented by the human mind—they point us to the discovery of natural or inherent laws that become apparent to anyone who awakens to the deeper and more subtle dimensions of the interior of the cosmos. All authentic teachings that come from mystical insight are really describing subtle principles, structures, and laws that already exist in your own deepest interior, which is the interior of the evolving cosmos we are living in. Most people don’t awaken in such a way that they are able to perceive these subtle laws or structures, so when they hear mystical teachings they interpret them as injunctions or instructions. Although they can be used in that way; they really represent a deeper more subtle dimension of reality itself. When you begin to look at mystical or enlightenment teachings as laws and subtle structures that actually exist, your relationship to them changes significantly. You realize that if these are actual laws or structures, rather than ideas that someone came up with, then they represent an absolute truth, and if there is any integrity in your self and soul, you have to deal with them. So then these principles become the path, and you walk in a straight line. And you will see development occur. If you adhere to them, you can’t go wrong.

Today I spent a great deal of time in spiritual renewal...alone in my meditation room, trying the wrestle and tame the wild spirit within me. This has been a lifelong battle - as it goes, goodness wins out so long as I do not put intoxicates into my body! I have made space today within my own being by letting go of unnecessary thoughts and ridding myself of ignorance! It was brought to my awareness that this spiritual transformation that I'm going through is a life long process. On this path I will cultivate my spiritual gifts which are meant to help others. Spiritual transformation is worth the journey!

Blessings.
