Meditation...What's it for?

The word meditation, is derived from two Latin words : meditari(to think, to dwell upon, to exercise the mind) and mederi (to heal). Its Sanskrit derivation 'medha' means wisdom.

Meditation is not a technique but a way of life. Meditation is a cessation of the thought processes. It describes a state of consciousness, where the mind is free of scattered thoughts. With regular practice of a series of techniques, the energy of the mind and body can be liberated and the quality of consciousness can be expanded.

This expansion is what meditation is for. In this expanded state of consciousness your entire being ~ body, mind and soul, reset! Stress is released, thoughts stream logically and ordered and spiritually you feel renewed.
